UC Davis Student Health Services Physical Therapy Clinic Internship

The physical therapy internship at the SHS Physical Therapy Clinic is open to students interested in volunteering 4 hours per week in order to gain experience in an outpatient physical therapy setting. The majority of patients treated at the SHS Physical Therapy Clinic are seen for treatment of orthopedic problems and sports injuries, as well as, neurological disorders. UC Davis Sports Medicine Internship Program

Interns involved in The UC Davis Sports Medicine Program will gain invaluable experience by learning cutting-edge techniques and procedures from nationally-renowned orthopedic surgeons and sports medicine specialists experienced in injury assessment, management and prevention and improving sports performance through optimizing exercise training. Sutter Davis Hospital Cardiac Rehab Volunteer

Cardiac rehab is similar to physical therapy. It is geared towards patients who are recovering from cardiac surgery or for patients who continue to exercise post-surgery for health reasons. Cardiac rehav volunteers provide non-medical assisstance to the cardiac rehab staff. Some responsibilities of a cardiac rehab volunteer include taking patient blood pressures before and after their exercise period and assisting the staff with othe miscellaneous duties such as cleanup, patient contact, etc. Sutter Davis Hospital also has a couple other volunteer opportunities.
